Many of you will own your Camaros for many years -- you do not want to have to keep replacing the stripes. Keep in mind that the gap allows the ends of the decal to seal to the finish -- if you 'butt' them together in the gap between the fender and the bumper, you will eventually have problems -- keeping in mind that the bumper expands at a different rate than the sheetmetal front fender -- further, you don't want moisture to get behind the vinyl when it's inside the gap.

I suggest that you paint the stripes on if you don't like the gap!
Ahhhh...so maybe that's why the stripes stop on the hood. Another "gap" would be required between the hood and the front fascia!

Thanks fbod!

I understand what you're saying, but I still think there's a better way to execute the idea than the way we've seen most (?) dealers installing them, which would minimize (not necessarily completely remove) the gap. However, the degree to which the gap will be noticeable will obviously depend on both the base paint as well as the color of the vinyl.

I guess I'll just see what I can do whenever I get my Camaro.

Black Sharpie......laundry marker type. Pretty permanent, but you could remove it with a fine polishing compound by hand and cause no damage. Great on door chips for black cars too.

I think it looks good. After reading what fbod said, that small gap is a minor price to pay to ensure that they still look good in 3 or 4 years.
