Brake fluid needed for full flush/refill

Anyone know how much brake fluid it would take to refill the system if I swap the Brembo calipers and switch to braided lines? I bought 3 pint bottles of Motul. But after splitting my clutch/brake reservoirs this weekend, it took nearly a pint just to refill the brake reservoir with DOT3 and I started thinking it may be tight with only 3.

I reinstalled all 4 calipers since I had them sent out to get powder coated. I went around the car twice to bleed each caliper and I used one full 16 oz bottle.

You'll need about a pint.
Take care not to run the master cylinder and the ABS module dry when you do the work - you need the dealer level scan tool to bleed the abs module if you get air in it.

This....

I think I went around the car 3 or 4 times but the last time was just for good measure because I was surprised at how little it took.

Now, if you're switching out fluid over to DOT4 it might take more till you see it in the caliper but still I would think 3 bottles would be plenty.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I'm flushing it and putting dot4 in. I just bought a Motive Power Bleeder and going to give it a shot and see.

My car has DOT 3 fluid? I probably boiled the fluid already then. Wish I would have known that earlier. I have about 6 bottles of RBF600 in my garage. I could have swapped out the fluid before I decided to do any hard braking.

Yeah dot 3 and a shared reservoir with the clutch. Wth was GM thinking. I just split mine waiting for my calipers to get finished at the coaters so I could do new lines and calipers at the same time.

You would know if your fluid boiled. The pedal will go straight to the floor as if you had no fluid. It pumps up within few pumps.
