Bad Purge Solenoid?

I have a Zex nitrous kit on my car and suddenly after rewiring to a new switch panel the purge keeps blowing a 15 amp fuse (15 amp is what Zex supplied with the kit). I though it might have been a short somewhere so I ran all new wires to it and it is still blowing fuses. I even tried a second switch just in case. This leads me to believe that something is wrong with the solenoid itself.

How does one go about checking the solenoid itself to determine if it is the culprit? And if it is the solenoid, can they be rebuilt or is it a total replacement?

It should be a normally close value you should be able to ohm it with a meter. Another way would be take it out off the car and put a fuse block on it separately and apply power if the due blows you got your answer.

Kind of what I was thinking, they are pretty simple devices really. I am talking to Zex about it now. I ordered the kit in late March 2014, but it didn't ship until 4/2/2014 & I got is 4/4/2014. It has a 1 year warranty, so I am going to see if they will replace or repair it under warranty.
