This whole system, I feel, is really sensitive. I needed to move the car a few inches in the driveway so I just decided to roll it without turning it on (6M). Later when I finally turned it on I got the message which went away in a few minutes of driving.

It is common to knick or crack or plug when installing headers if you didn't remove them first. If you did remove the plugs then chances are you just have loose plug wire.
you guys rock....just found a loose plug wire and it solved the problem. No more "service stabilitrak"

Next problem, how do you turn the CEL light off

OMG I just googled my about this because the same thing happened to me last night. It says "Engine Power is Reduced" then "Service Stabilitrak" came after. The car is not acting up it's just the CEL is bothering me on the dash.

So I decided to take it to the dealer but right when I pulled to the parking lot the CEL went away and so the Mechanics told me that they can't check what's wrong with it if there's no CEL on it.

So I just decided to get my free oil changed then like after 2-3mile drive my car started beeping, same prompts came on but the car started LIMPING!!!! I have to drive like 20miles more to get home and I stalled a couple because of this. First thing in the morning I'll get the dealer to tow my car to get serviced on.

Check your spark plug wires. Pull them all off and then reseat them. One of mine came loose and I had that problem until I did this fix.

So I pulled out all the spark plugs and put it all back in and the ENGINE POWER REDUCED and SERVICE STABILITRAK went away but the check engine light is still on. So I went to the dealer to get it fixed up and they found 7 codes under that check engine light. The car is not acting up or anything so they just erased the codes and told me to just drop it in if it shows up again.

The CEL got cleared up was happy to feel at ease on the road again but after 2 days everything came back on. CEL, ENGINE POWER REDUCED and SERVICE STABILITRAK. I did the process all over again and now is left with a CEL on my dash and it's sunday, Service Center is closed FML!!!!!!!

call OnStar and get them to run a diagnostics. This will at least give you the codes for today in case they aren't present tomorrow. It will give you some more info to tell your mechanic.

Dyk-NO, have you ever spoken to one of our Customer Assistance agents about the issues you are having? Customer Assistance would be able to work with you and your dealer to get a resolution for you. I hope that helps you. If you need assistance in getting in contact with them feel free to contact me.

UPDATE May 11.2011

So the CEL, Engine power Reduced and Service Stabilitrak had been temporarily fixed by me replugging the spark plugs. The car will reset and get rid of the CEL after a couple of miles and then awhile ago,the worst thing happened.

All of the codes came back and had kept prompting more that it used to.The car started to shut off on me without even making any sound even while CRUISING!
It died down on me twice when I was on the HIGHWAY!
I don't feel safe driving in this car anymore. This is some SERIOUS RELIABILITY issue right here.

I love the car but if this keeps going on I'll rather trade it in. I only had the car for almost a year on the 20th actually and I even stored it during the winter. Well I just got off from the phone with the service department and I asked them to tow my car to get it serviced. Currently waiting for the tow company to arrive as of the moment.

Have you heard anything back from your dealership Dyk-NO? Also have you thought of contacting our Customer Assistance team to assist in getting the issues resolved. If you would like I can setup a case for you with them. All I would need is your contact information(name, address, phone number) and I would get that back to you the same day. I hope this helps you.

I have had my Service Stabilitrak come on three times in the last month. Usually just pops on and goes off after a few seconds. Two times were after a "fast acceleration" and the other just driving in town. Stopped by the dealership and mentioned it to the service guy who said he's heard from a few guys this was happening. He said at this point not to worry but if it comes on more and more or stays on bring it in. He also said the other common complaint was getting a grinding from first to second and everyone said that you needed the clutch right to the floor before shifting...I get that too,,,the other gears you can wack through super fast, but man have I blown a lot of gear changes out of first.

I dont know wether it's a bit too cold out yet but I swear the car doesn't have the power it used to (M6) Haven't been able to light em up like I used to before winter?

I am having some very similar issues with my 2010. Mine has 12500 miles.

When i was driving down the interstate this past weekend the check engine light came on and the service stabilitrak light came on along with the icons for trac. control and stability control. The engine was running horribly and felt like it was misfiring really bad. I couldn't even maintain 70 mph.

Long story short i limped it to my destination and was checking all of the electrical connections under the hood. While i had the engine running, i wiggled the wiring harness running to the ECM and fuse box. If i positioned the harness just right the engine would run just fine, but as soon as i moved it a little bit more, the engine would start misfiring and shaking horribly.

I was able to keep it positioned to run good so i could make it back home that afternoon.

Now today, i go out to start the car so i can take it to the dealer and it doesnt start! So i pop the hoop and adjust the harness and it starts but runs like crap. I then adjust the harness back so it runs good again.

I finally made it to the dealership and was told they can check it tomorrow and get back to me. Maybe you should try messing with that part of the harness on your car and see if has any effect.

This morning I started my car and the service stabiltrac came on and then went off. But the car started up rough and had a weird idle. Feels like a misfire. Anything to worry about? The car seems to shake more then usual but this is the first time the light came on.
