Exhaust louder some days than others?

So I have kooks LT with high flows, a magnaflow x-pipe and borla s type axle back. It feels like somedays my exhaust is just louder than other days. I love the tone my borlas carry at most rpm's but when I'm driving it feels like 1-2.5k rpm's can sometimes sound too hollow. I heard another Camaro's exhaust (pyroboy) and all he had is muffler delete and its pretty much louder than mine. I can't imagine having muffler delete and long tubes. Did I make the mistake of not getting the catback piping? Does a tune change the way the exhaust sounds?

I'm considering just putting flowmasters maybe. :\

Atmospheric pressure affects the way sound waves travel, even Camaro exhaust music.

well the cat backs have x pipes that do help with sound. but the main thing is the mufflers when it comes to cat backs. borla s isn't the loudest thing around.

hmm, well does a tune change anything about the exhaust sound aside from decel popping?

the lower rpms are a bit hollow and not a heavy idle, but the higher rpm's sound great.

idle and rev

take off

ya man that thing sounds great.... i know what you mean by the idle not being heavy. i had the same thing going on. i wanted a louder idle. i believe my cam solved that problem.

also you asked about a tune, and yes a tune makes the car sound smoother. cant remember if it makes it louder. i have been dyno tuned 3 times now

also you said you got an x-pipe....that is the rest of a catback so idk why you asked if you messed up not getting a catback....is the magnaflow x-pipe resonated?

Nope it's not resonates, just a steel true flow x pipe, I ask that because I don't know if the pipe bends in aftermarket catbacks change anything with sound or somethin. Shrug

Louder is not better. Why would you think a muffler delete is better? I have Kooks LT with Borla S and it is perfect sound and great performance. Trust me you will get tired of that racket you are trying to move to. Flowmasters are OK for trucks but for Sports cars??? No way!

I've actually heard some LS motors sound pretty awesome with flowmaster single chambers.

Exactly...

OP, I am telling you man...you WILL get tired of that sound. Have you actually had anyone drive your Camaro past you to hear how loud it is? It is deceiving on video and from in cabin. I bit my tongue, but I let my wife drive Borla S type past me and noticed it sounded much better outside the vehicle as a passerby and ever since then I have been content.

Like FTW said, Louder is NOT better. The people on here that only want noise volume and NO tone are strictly trying to get attention. Sorry dude, I know some guys love the muffler delete, and im not trying to offend anyone...I actually like the sound WITHOUT LTs....However, with LTs, no way in holy friggin hell.... Nothing beats the tone of the Borla, Corsa, Magnaflows and I will stand by TONE > VOLUME.
