key problem

about 30% of the time when i turn off the engine and attempt to remove the key it wont release,have to mess with the shifter until it does.dealer said the shifter needs to be replaced(under warranty)anyone else have this problem?

Had this happen to a different model, the phone cord was in the way not allowing the shifter to go all the way forward into park, worth a look see.

Happened to a car my daughter owned years ago. The key release is tied to the shifter being in park; I believe there is some type of switch or toggle the shifter presses against when in park that 'releases the lock'. Regardless, they replaced her shifter (also under warranty at the time) and she never had the problem again.

good to know.just thought i would put it out there in case anyone else was having this problem.taking it to the dealer friday.

car is under bumper to bumper warantee,im going to let them do the right thing.
