SLP Loudmouth 2

Hello, first time posting here and had a question. I just had the SLP Loudmouth 2 exhaust installed on my 2011 SS, I thought it would be louder than what it is, the guy at the muffler shop suggested that I cut out the back 2 cats since they are of no use. Thoughts?

I have the slp loud mouth II and the ARH long Tubes with high flow cats and it is 3x louder with the headers then with just the slp. Well worth every penny for the long tubes

I thought about headers but don't want to void my car warranty, I just got it about 2 weeks ago. Do you know if there would be a sound difference by removing the extra cats and using straight pipes? I appreciate the information.

When I spoke with the guy at the muffler shop, I let him know I thought it would be louder, he said there are 4 catalytic converters and only 2 of them are actually used by the computer, he suggested cutting them off and it would increase the sound and make it sound deeper. I'm not sure how much he is going to charge or if it's even worth it.

you will deff be freeing up some extra hp and it will prob be louder. If you remove both cats and do 1 high flow cat on each side that will prob be your best bet. Yes there are 4 cats on the stock down pipe that are very restrictive (low flow). You may void your warranty with any work done before the cats or to the cats I'm not sure about that. I do understand about the warranty and i was the same way the 1st year i had mine but i just couldn't resist and I'm so happy with the headers they are so much fun.

Service manager at the dealership told me it would void the warranty for the 2 cats that were removed so it wouldn't matter, he said as long as I didn't touch the ones that were actually used by the computer, it would be fine. I'm still in the process of learning about all of the charges, been a truck guy my entire life and this is my first actual car.

Do you have an LS3, or L99? The Automatic L99 has VERY big resonators intended to stifle drone from the AFM. The resonators cut out alot of volume, especially at higher RPMs.

I just ran into a guy that has the L99 and had his resonators cut out, makes a big difference regarding the sound.
