Anyone use these headers ??
Anyone use these ? says they are a direct bolt up to the stock exhaust. Is it worth the hp gain as compared to Long Tubes ?? More importantly, do these prevent throwing any codes ???

You won't gain much bolting them up to the stock cats, that's where a good bit of the power from longtubes is gained.
I would say you might get 10 hp from just bolting those onto the stock cats. If you want to stay un-tuned you might be able to get away with the short tubes along with some stock replacement high flow cats, you may not get a CEL then and wouldn't need a tune. If you can do that you'll gain much more power than just swapping the manifolds for shorties. Basically, not worth the money you spend for the HP gain unless you pair them with cats, or you just want the sound.

I have these bolted up to solo hi flow cats...no tune with these is needed ...emissions legal as well. You will see better gains with the hi flow cats .....together they make good power with great sound.

We have bolted these up and tested them. You will see about 10 HP with the Factory Cats. You can also get these in 3 different finishes. Stainless PT#1812S, Silver Ceramic Coated PT#1812SJS, and Ceramic Coated Titanium #1812SJT. These will also work with the Turbonectics Single Turbo Kit. Another good thing about these Shorty Headers is that they are CARB legal.

I used to have that exact set on my car into oem cats. Its help a lil bit but not much. Id say if your gonna put some hf cats you'll see better results. But if you run the numbers after these shorties and hf cats you might as well go with LTs in the first place.

Unless you live somewhere with restrictions against long tubes or are extra concerned about warranty issues, you should go long tube. A tune is highly recommended with long tubes, not so much with short. The performance you get from long tubes are not only superior as is, but will assist future performance mods in reaching their full potential.

It's a waste compared to long tubes.

Unless you in live California where they are the only LEGAL option. Long tubes don't fly here!

I have never used those headers......I have had BBK's shorties, and I would say just spend your money on toilet paper, you'll be a lot more satisfied when its all said and done.
I gained 7WHP with my shorties and no CEL If you are trying to compare them to LT's...its no comparison, the difference is like night and day....IMO

Shorties are just to compliment the engine bay. What gives you more power is swapping those four heavy cats for high flow cats. Jba or solo mid pipes is what you need. And if you still want shorty headers then it'll be up to your taste in color coatings. Good luck.

I put in those JBA shorties with the JBA hi flow cats and got a code about 500 miles later. If you don't mind the light, you'll love the sound and extra power. I didn't dyno and I did the swap all at once so I don't really know what the shorties did, I'd assume the hi flow cats did the most power wise but anyway if you're gonna do the shorties do the cats at the same time, it'll be worth it.
