oh... other thing... you can also almost kind of hear it in the one clip.. but the manual downshifts can sound pretty cool... when manually downshifting the computer actually blips the gas which sounds cool! LOL! Will need to try and get a better clip of that...

ok.. off to the dyno!

I used Summit glass pack mufflers on my LS3 to reduce the harshness and give a lower, mellower tone.

Sounds real good IMO. How much did you spend and what did you get? Really looking forward to the Dyno. Did you do a dyno before the mods?

Yes he did. One thing about this guy, he will dyno before/after just about any mod short of an antenna

Very credible and literate effort.
Those mufflers just lying there seem as King Kong's severed testicles though. Yikes.

sounds great. I don't think the v6 can sound any better.

Sounds like a v8 and 4cyl had a baby...

scrming,

Love the idle sound and really love the mpgs you got.

My one concern is drone. Can't live with it. How's the sound inside at cruising speed?

Thanks for posting this.

How much is it costing you to dyno?

PA was BLARING... asked a friend to video... he was unfamiliar with my camcorder... Just not a good day for trying to video...

This was against another friends turbo V6 (was running 12.6). His car is fairly quiet so I believe what you are hearing besides a heartache tonight is my car... I'll see if I can get a better video some time in the near future!

Best run of the dat was a 14.745@94.67. Slower than last week but more on that later... did get a better 60' which was 2.11.

Ok... reading up on the dyno SAE correction.... looks like the Dyno Jet did some correcting... so despite the difference in weather the results should be ok... Basically no difference in PEAK HP/TQ but a slight improvement in the 5000 RPM range.. will post the dyno sheet soon...

Back to the fact I ran SLOWER today... Did some weather lookup and track look ups... then did some of the DA calculation stuff... came up with this.

Last Saturday... DA corrected stuff:
14.417 @ 94.852 MPH

Today... DA corrected stuff:
14.332 @ 97.468 MPH

now some of this is HP/TQ improvement... some might be the weight reduction (figure 40 to 42 pounds)... and some is a tail wind...

What I'm still kind of amazed by is the improvement in the gas mileage... I bet i picked up a couple MPG...

Now.. the car does seem loud... certain RPMs are a bit boomy in the cabin... but cruising on the e-way at 75MPH is absolutely fine! To me it's not terribly louder than stock.. I asked my friend who was at the track what he thought... he said it sounded good....

My rambling thought.... The car sounds good to me... it definitely has a V6 performance sound... The issue some folks will have is that sound doesn't fit the camaro image... This is a very different sound for a camaro... but as other have said it's a performance V6 sound... and I like it!

Alright... enough for now... long day... I will try and post the dyno sheet and my thoughts on that...
