Will you buy an automatic or manual?

I think the 8sp Auto is going to be amazing, but the driving experience of a Manual is too good to pass up IMO.

I voted for the manual because I believe it will come with Rev Match. I have a Z51 A8 that is wonderful on the street but overheats on the track. If I see that the Camaro Team is able to keep the A8 cool in track conditions then I might change my mind. But having tracked Z51's with Rev Match I can can tell you it is a very cool feature to have. Unless you are a very good driver that has truly mastered heel/toe driving, rev matching cannot be beat. I tried it and I am not very good at it at all, but a rev match car is perfect every down shift. It is just a ton of fun to drive and experience. IF, you have absolutely NO plans to ever, ever track your car, the new A8 is a joy to drive. In the Corvette it is wonderful for all types of general driving and some spirited use. But it overheats for track use. If I see that the Camaro Team has learned from the Corvette Team and is able to keep the A8 cool in all kinds of track conditions, then I might change my mind.

This car is going to be my DD, and I don't want to have to deal with rowing gears on a daily basis.

Auto. For me it comes down to the fact it will be my DD and the wife needs to be able to drive it. If it was going to be a weekend toy for track use, I would not pass up the manual. Having lived with my ZF8 (which the 8L90 is as good as) for two years I can tell you, it's fun when you want to have some fun and makes stop and go traffic much easier to live with.

Manual! I love my modified G8 GT with its Automatic and no sunroof. She's never for sale. My Camaro will be a manual, convertible for a completely different experience.

I've daily driven a 6speed manual for 6yrs. At this point my next daily will be an auto. If it was a weekend toy I'd go manual with out a doubt. Track days? Manual. Drags? Auto.

Auto, only if there is a manual mode and the shift speed is fast enough for me. Not having Rev Match would make the decision difficult too. Going to have to test drive one to be 100% sure.

I have to go with the manual. I've already told my wife that I will teach her in case she needs to drive it.

Manual, because driving experience intensified, even if the A8 is quicker. I'm willing to train hard at banging gears til I reach "driver mod" status.
