When you say stock box- do you mean absolute stock box? I know you did a slight mod with removing a portion of stock tubing, was your baseline done with absolute stock? Just trying to understand... thanks Joe |

Please forgive my limited knowledge on engines, but is there any chance that the Airaid performs better with the stock exhaust? Does a less restrictive exhaust make the engine run leaner?

My "stock" intake was not so stock! Not only did I remove the silencer, I also had the relocated IAT sensor... When we installed Injen I went back to the stock IAT sensor... Now looking at my older dyno sheets it appears the resonator-ectomy did not make enough difference to actually show up on the dyno sheet.. so I would say that really made no change to the "baseline". Now the IAT relocation maybe a different story... The IAT relocation showed up on the dyno. It showed an improvement of a couple HP/TQ... My thought is without the IAT relocation the "baseline" would have been a little less... so perhaps it would have closed the gap some between stock intake and the Airaid... not sure if it would have brought the Airaid up to even with the stock intake, but it might have been closer...  Of course on the flip side it would have meant the Injen would have shown even more gains...

Well that was cool of air raid to send a unit out no doubt. But in the end looks like I cant purchase the air raid cause the numbers don't support it. I am very curious why in there runs they see an increase and in yours you didn't see much. All I can say is that it is an interesting result. I really thought both CAI would be close to each other give or take a hp or so. Well.... A Injen it is then. Thx for posting up your results. I

After your Injen Dyno run, do you think the numbers support Injen's claim of gain of 16 HP? I know your baseline wasn't on a bone stock model, but in approximation was their claim even close?

You are the man, thanks for doing these test. Kinda of disappointing the Airaid is not performing, but mine is staying on. I don't want to give up the window washer bottle and I'm still having doubts on the placement of the filter that low to the ground. The car is still new and more CAI's are most likely on the way. Anyone heard if K&N has one in development or out yet? Anyway, thanks again. You are a great contributer to this forum and I have respect for what you have to say. Shark |
