Hey cid, can you point me to the shop you had you gears installed at. I just found the 1LE 3.91 gears were released and only cost around $250 . I usually try to install everything myself, but I hate dealing with the clearances in the rearend.

Whose up for a Camaro Run/Rally from Las Cruces to Silver City and back? We could leave Las Cruces at 10/11am and take I-25 North to hit Caballo and then go to Silver City for an awesome sit down luncheon. After that we would come back down to Deming and hit Las Cruces for some drinks at either High Desert, The Las Cruces Taproom, De La Vegas or The Game. The roundtrip drive itself will run 5 hours, add an additional 2 hours more lunch at Silver City and it will be around 250 miles. The last time that this was done was probably about 2 years ago with Michael, Robert, Richard, John and Eric, but since then nothing of such. I figured this would be a great time to do it, it won't be too hot and the drive I hear is amazing to do especially with the curved turns and such. What say you folks, you down?!

Hopefully we can make it, were back in town, but I have to get a few kinks worked out that showed up on the car during the trek. I think the car is finally well broken in, we left with 16,000 miles on the odometer and returned with over 21k . Poor car also needs some new rear shoes, I can't seem to figure out why the fronts still look brand new.

Hey cid,
I'm in Cruces and planning on doing the 3.91 gears swap too. The price you got from Team Automotive sounds pretty good and I'm inclined to use a shop that has experience in doing this on camaros. I've got a few questions if you don't mind. Did you have to supply the install kit? Did you have your diff bushing swapped out too? Have you noticed any gear whine? How long did the install take?

Thanks
Robert

Well here's the video against the ZL1. Was not quite my best time, but it was definately the most memorable. Eventhough he was napping at the line a win is a win right.

It was 598 for the install he charged me 75 to change out the bushings but said he gave me a great deal as it was a pain in the a$$ to do the bushings so he might charge a little more for that now not sure. I supplied the install kit for it. Had a little whine to it the first day drove it to work and back 240 miles then took it to the track and after the track there was not whine to it.
Total install time was 2 days but had to replace a diff bearing so had to wait a day for that to come in so it was a 1 day install.

If you have anymore questions please let me know.

The guy Wes was recommended by Amador Paint and Body.
