I see you sealed off your trunk, but is it good enough to do an IB setup? The only cars i used to get good sound iwth an IB setup were BMW.

IB setup can be great in practically any car, as long as you seal off the front wave from the back. this trunk was acutually quite easy to do that in. I'll be offering my listening impressions as soon as I get it all up and running.

i think for me it's the boxiness, and the fact that there is just a round grill. i was expecting somethign a little bit more elaborate on the grill front, and something that blended better with the interior. I wanted less "show" and more "factory" look on the inside of the cabin.

A grill with a finer mesh (or some sort of backing material) would look better as you wouldn't be able to see through it and thus see the speaker. That would help with the "factory" look, as you can hardly ever see through factory covers. Not much you can do with the shape of that huge speaker.

midbass pods:
I think the side profile shots show you that it's not as boxy as it seems, and if you look closely, it follows the bend of the panel as it goes towards the rear deck. While I may have done something differently, these are done well enough that if I did want to change them at some point, it would be my last priority on the install. the trunk: all the metal racks were commissioned and built earlier, but this is now how it all looks currently before any flooring and side walls are built, as well as the amp tub. (ignore the thing wrapped in ccf on the left side closest to the wall, it's the factory amp providing me tunes until I can get this all up and running) the IB wall I told John I didn't want any hardware showing, and he did a great job of making a resonant free baffle, strong bolting points, but with nothing of the usual sort showing. shots from the front don't seem to do these subs justice, as they are freaking massive in the camaro (note the tight tolerance between the seat and the midbass pods - somehow I screwed up and built the baffle out just a smidge too deep so that that panels interfere with the seat fold down operation (only slightly though)) |

Looking good so far! Keep up the truly custom work.
I originally(years ago) when thinking about getting the most bang for your buck and best performance for your time spent on it thought about mounting the woofers in that location... I wonder how well the trunk seal and the other seals will handle the pressure of those beasts
