Anyone have much information about these new trims being put on hold by GM? I read that somewhere.

I know awhile back that they changed the part numbers, but now I saw recently in some thread that these could be put on hold for awhile for whatever reason? (maybe new vendor??)

4 sum reason they put a hold on them.....then changed their part numbers....must have changed vendors....probably couldnt produce enough of them 4 GM's liking....most people dont have them after waiting forever 4 them.....maybe that's the reason 4 the change....I think I got the last of the old part number as I just got these last friday.

These are a lighter/brighter shade of silver than what comes standard on the 2SS and 2LT cars.

I'll be getting these eventually also! But I have a 1LT/RS...man there has got to be a way to throw in the ambient lighting as well. Ive seen plenty of DIYs for adding ambient lighting to the dash of 2SS and 2LT cars, but nothing that I know of for adding lighting to the doors of a 1SS or 1LT. Surely the hook ups are there already?!?

I'm not 100% sure about that on a 1SS or 1LT. I don't have someone else's car to play around with.

What I could suggest to you is this. See if you can get the light tube for the doors, then buy the GM lamp. You could use the light in the window switch to run the ambient light in the door. It is most likely has a yellow and black wires. The yellow would be the positive, and the black negative for your blue lamp.

The sunroof button, and the traction control button lamp is powered both by the yellow wire.

If you do it this way, then when you dim the lights all the way down, the ambient lighting would still be on at their lowest level. In my 2LT, when you dim the lighting down, the ambient lighting goes off. So that is something to consider if you go with the other lights in the car.

They still fade up and fade down though.

I have a 1LT....yes it matches good....Its mainly for the 1LT and 1SS since you couldnt get them when ordering the car....only the stock cloth.

Got it on Ebay last summer....the seller doesnt have an active account anymore....I already looked 4 other people....just keep looking on there....others might have it for sale.

as far as the 1lt and 1ss you could use light tape from light tape.com and go to industry partneners and find TNT Audio there kit for the camaro with dimming cost 140-180 i forget. then door inserts from pace performance order # 92241174 cost 339.95 i just orded both for my 1ss good luck guys
