Texting and driving can get you killed

Like the headline said, and i will kill you unless your a 16 year old girl and start to cry as you come out of the car that hit my Camaro, so after meting up with a C5 member and having a meal, i start to drive back home i have 5 mi to go and i passing a SUV and POW i get hit.

The damage was light but what the FU@K, so i drive 1 more mi to pull over and behind me is the SUV, i pull over to the side and get out and this 16 year old gets out crying and i stop and say i was ones this young.

So stop and think you are not paying attention to the road if you texting.

It's illegal in MD and DC. Needs to be that way in more states. I never understood what was SO important that you need to respond while going 60 mph on a major road.

Illegal in Texas also..Sorry about the car. I'm sure you'll be able to find a good shop to fix the damage.

It's illegal here in Las Cruces, NM too, except for City Councel and the PD(apparently they are AWESOME at doing this). However, I see people doing it ALL the time!! Plus, our cops here are too lazy to care and will just look the other way!!

It's illegal in the UK too, as is eating/drinking. The OPs situation shows exactly why. Driving a car should get your undivided attention at all times.

its illegal here as well....but it still happens.....and its one of MY pet peeves.....if I see it happening, and I havn't yet since my mod.....and would NEVER do it while they were driving....if I could get beside them at a stop light....I would NEED to use my horn to get their attention then shake my finger at them......

That sucks but could have been far worse. Cars can be fixed, people can't. Glad you're both ok!

me neither. I resisted texting until the last couple years and it has done me so much good, but now people think it's rude to "call" so they just text instead to ask questions or say hi. People would text me and I would just call them back. It worked great, but now so many people text and I have a smart phone, I decided to be a lemming. I still call people if I have a question, but I respond to texts via text now. But I really don't see why people feel the urge to text and drive. I mean you are literally taking your eyes off the road!!!
