National Geographic rekindled my fever

I somewhat gave up on my quest to get a Camaro. I avoided these forums so I wouldn't get frustrated. But with a possible promotion coming up things are looking better. I watched the hour long special lastnight and the Camaro fever is back! I'm calling the credit union on monday and applying for a loan. =)
That NG show was excellent. See y'all around the forums

I wouldn't apply for a loan unless you are planning on taking a lot car. From what I know most bank loans/approvals are only good for 30 days and ordering would put you outside the 30 day window.

I applied for my loan on Wed. after I found out that my car had been built.

I disagree. I got my loan well over a month before - to be sure I could afford it. It all depends...ask your bank/CU when you go. My 3.9% rate was locked in well before I had the TPW of the car...

Good luck and Welcome Back!

Sounds like you lucked out with your bank. Congrats on the 3.9 rate. 5 years?

I know a lot limit it to 30 days or less (mine did, and I know of several others).

Looks like the OP will need to ask his bank what their policy is.

Yes, 5 years. They are doing 2.9% right now! USE Credit Union https://www.usecu.org/home/home . Starting 7/10, I'll be doubling my payments to pay it off quicker. They said there was no problem holding the load past 60 days once I qualified...

Sounds like the credit unions give you a longer lock in period. Nice for all of you that are eligible for good credit unions.

I only got 30 days from my bank, but I'm happy with 3.75 for 5 years. My wife is eligible to join a credit union, but I don't think it is one of the good ones, because their best rate or 5 years is 4.5

Same here... I watched the special on NatGeo last night and I think it might have cemented my decision to purchase a new Maro....

My loan rate when I questioned was for 4.9% and was good for 45 days. Hopefully it is lower in June when I actually take out the loan

My credit union's paperwork is good for 6 months.

The interest rate is locked in for 30 days.

All I have to do is call and I'm qualified in 15 minutes. Provident Credit Union

I have UeCu (utility employee), so we'll see. I'm still going to see what they say, even if I have to order the car and wait a few months. I'll post an update Monday.
