You are going to get many different opinions but I can tell you that I have the Kooks 1 7/8 LT Headers, love them and have had NO problems with them. Remember this...you get what you pay for....so be careful with those "deals" out there!!!

Actually, I think you're referring to Kooks.

Best of both worlds, get the 1 and 7/8 Stainless Works Power headers. Made and fit great with a 2yr warranty. Plus you can get a pair with cats or off-road pipes for around $600-$800. I got mine with the off-road pipes from Juiced and a SCT tune from Jannetty all for under $1000. Good deal.

Or get Big Flow Headers for almost the same price with lifetime warranty and Polished 304 stainless.

The widest spot on the exhaust port my TSP ported L92 heads is 1 5/8" wide. That fits perfectly with the ID of a 1 3/4" header. It has been said that the first 8"-9" of the header is the most critical area which includes the first bend.

As you said that would help in keeping up the velocity and the scavenging. The scavenging pulls on the intake port during the overlap period and helps in getting the intake charge moving for the next induction cycle and filling up the cylinder. It has somewhat of a supercharging effect. This all happens with the piston around top dead center.

In my way of thinking a stepped 1 3/4" x 1 7/8" header with a "spike" and a merge collector say down to 2 1/2"(2 3/8" ID) then back up to 3" should be the ticket. I just wish there were more dyno results as that is what tells the tale.

Which produce the most HP, which sound the best, is there a best brand? and which have the easiest install?

Leave as much information as you can!
I personally like Borla and Kooks the best. They both make great quality headers.

Sending you a PM.

Can long tube headers be put on an l99 without a tune?
Don't want to blow my warranty. I have 2 1/2 years left and just want to put headers onto my stock exhaust.
