How can I tell when my 2010 camaro was made?

I bought it on June 5th 2010...but how can I find out the day it was done? Is it possible to put the VIN # on a GM search engine/thread?

Thanks

You mean what number car do you have? Cause correct me if I'm wrong but inside the door frame it tells you the month/year the car was made...

Open the hood. There should be a little silver rectangle with a bunch of stuff written on it. On that will be the day and hour your car was built. Add 4 hours to the time and that is the time when your car rolled off of the assembly line.

Wow- That's a new one.

And as far as the suspension stickers go, from what I saw at Oshawa these suspension build dates can be several days, not hours before its mated to the body.

Actually going to the Martinrea plant where they make the suspension modules for the Camaro, Regal and Cadillac, we were told that the modules are built the same day as the rest of the car so the sticker on the front module will be pretty accurate to the day it was built. JIT Just In Time manufacturing.

I was there also and had the same informations from employees. Most of the time it about 3 to 4 hours difference.

Let's test it!

PM me the VIN and I'll take a look in GM's system and see what the 'BUILD DATE' shows.

Then let me know what the things under the hood or on the suspension show.

Anna

You beat me to the punch, I also went to my dealer and asked them for my build sheet, and got it right away. Good go have in my Camaro file.

I checked my suspension sticker- It's dated 8/3/09 @ 8:49 AM. My car was completed on 8/4/09. So it can be just hours.
One completed assembly I inspected at Oshawa was dated 6/6/11 and it was on the line 6/10/11 during the tour. Therefor these bar code stickers can only be used as a approximate date and not always accurate.
imo of course.
