Zaino Help please..what did I do wrong!!

Hey guys after owning my 2SS for a month it was time to start the Zaino process. Did all the beginning steps (aside from clay) washed it with the Zaino wash last night and put it in the garage. This morning I started with Z-5(black SS) I did the entire car before I started buffing it off. Then I just started wiping off where I started first applying. Well it all looked great IN THE GARAGE...when I backed it out into the sunlight there was swirls and tons of left over z-5 but it wasnt because I missed the spot it wasnt really coming off! I had to go over it with Z-6 spray to get it off and it still wasnt perfect in spots?? Like it baked in almost . I finally after going over it a million times got most of it off and it looks ok?? I let it all dry about 45 minutes. @ 69 deg. I was planning on going to z2 now and finish her off but I am worried...

Did you remember to add the hardener catalyst? If it wasn't in the right proportions or its humid outside its going to take a while for it to set up. just let it dry for a while then test a small area to see if its dried. Its a great product, just behaves a little different that the wax your used to probably.

I must admit I didn't! I assumed it being a brand new car with no previous wax ever on it it would be ok?? I even read somewhere that with a brand new car this step wasnt necassary....what should I do now??

Oh and I did add the hardner in the mixing bottles. I filled the bottle 1/2 way and added 5 drops.

I think your talking about using a clay bar? just start the process over, wash and apply the zaino again.

No telling what it got wiped down with at the dealer before you picked it up. If they used a quick detalier then it has wax in it of some sort.

Hit that thing with Dawn and start over

#1. ZAINO IS VERY HARD TO USE ON DARK CARS. PERIOD. I swore off Zaino on my black Corvette but began using it again on the SIM Camaro. Its lots and lots and lots of work on dark colors.

#2. Once you think you are all said and done, the car will still be streaky. Wash it with Zaino wash amd use the Z6 gloss enhancer and the Z8 grand finale. It will look amazing, just be prepared for LOTS of work on black.

#3. START OVER! wash with dawn, clay, wash with dawn again. Let sit overnight to dry, do this: Z5, Z6, Z2, Z6, Z2, Z6, Z8. You will only need one coat of Z5 as the swirls/scratches should be minimal. The Z2 is the real bread winner. Once you do all that, you are good to go. Remember DO NOT PRESS HARD with the clay, let the clay do the work. If it is still all streaked when you are done, refer to #2.

AGM ...no clay bar. I was talking about mixing the Z-5 with the hardner drops included in the ZFX kit. When you want to apply mutiple layers in the same day.

Do not put any presure on the applicator when applying zaino..it will swirl.
The same goes for taking it off, go real lightly with a quality micro or 100%
cotton towel...These cars have soft paint which mean they will scratch or
swirl easy! The Z-5 does pretty good at filling in, so it will hide most of the
swirls.

Contrary to what others have said, Zaino is the easiest product to use IMO. I've been detailing cars for over 10 years, using Meguires, Mothers, and any number of waxes/polishes, and nothing is easier to use, nor has longer durability, thank Zaino. And it does not matter what color the car is - Zaino works the same on each and every one.

Reading your post, it appears you either;

1. Used too much in the application
2. Did not allow enough time for drying

You can easily rectify this situation. Shoot me a PM, and we'll work it out.
