Have you run at Mason Dixon? I was pretty impressed with their track prep. I think a stellar 60' time is going to be key for you

I don't know that anyone has done a 10 with only 10 pounds of boost but it is not something that most people measure. Boost in itself is not a good judge of anything. If you have an efficient cam and heads and a set of headers you will spin your blower at the same speed as a stock car but make 4 pounds less boost. Boost measures the restriction of a motor as much as it measures the drive of the supercharger. I think if I had an auto transmission my 427 with trickflow heads, a radical custom cam, headers and 2.3 liter LS9 blower could run in the 10's with only 10 pounds of boost. I'm certain it could with nitrous. Nitrous doesn't add much boost but gives me over 350+ whp.
I guess I worded it improperly. Was more talking about an untouched motor with minor bolt ons going tens with just ten psi. Am trying to get that done without any more mods than basically a 75rwhp kit , no cats, and weight lose. Any more power and I'll be changing injectors and so forth. At some point im sure the temptation to mod more will get the best of me but for now just want to show the potential of these cars with minor mods.

well not tonight it can't. first pass was the best of the night, but only mustered an 11.03. not very much cool down time and the track prep going to crap as the cool air settled in ruined the other two runs. 11.1 and 11.2 spinning off the line dropped 60' to a 1.7 on the slowest pass.

Thanks. It was a frustrating night. I actually managed an 11.00 towards the end of last year. Reduced some weight in the front tires so was hoping I could squeek that 10 out of it.

Wasn't very busy, I thought it would have been worse. The track prep went to crap and never improved. Lots of street tired cars tearing it up and it got cool very fast at sunset.

It made around 540 rwhp on a dynojet. Because of the large rear in these cars the only gear options are factory ones. Mine has 3.23's and the manuals are 3.73. I think with the super low first gear in the auto the 3.73's would be overkill. My rear dr's are a bit smaller (around 26") diameter than the stock 28" so that helps the final drive a bit. Seems to make the tranny shift a little off though so not sure if it's helping or not, lol.

you definitely need tuned for the smaller rear tires. your speedo is probably quite off too.. in a manual it's no big deal but in an auto the shift points will change... that could very well be enough to get you into the 10's. ... OOOR. it could put you back up a couple of 10'ths either is possible haha.

I would like to see some track logs I believe I can get you there with a little fine tuning.

Ted.

I only run those tires when drag racing, so I hate to mess with the tune since the stock tires are on 90% of the time.

I will try to remember the sct next time I go and data log for you. I have been hesitant to have you tweek anything because I love how it runs right now and hate to change it, lol.
