some good advice from all of you. even about the crazy parts. lol
some of you have some good things to say about the situation and I appreciate it. The fact that I'm here asking is that I like opinions. With so many people on here I think it's a good start. I honestly don't think it will work but I guess I'm hoping it will due to the fact that yes I am somewhat a little picky and she is exactly what I am looking for.

Not crazy. This will sound cheesy and wimpy , but it can work. If she really doesn't think it can work, then I guess it's a hint.
It's a tough choice to make.

In general most of the good ones get taken immediately.

CAUTION: Time will tell if this is a real "match" or a temporary "thing". But either way better to take some chances than not.

I've made LDR's work. You can do it if it's what you really want. But at some point or another, someone's gonna have to move... and if neither of you are willing to consider that in the future, you must not be that into each other.

Here's a good test. Ask - what do you think about getting together for a weekend coming up. We'll figure out the details later, who goes where, fly, drive... whatever.

If she goes crazy and can't wait to make this happen, you may have a keeper there that is into you.

If there is a lot of himmin and hawwin and I don't knows... kind of busy at work... thats a long drive... expensive flight.... maybe a sign this isn't heading anywhere.

There is nothing better than someone that is crazy about seeing you and will do anything to make it happen.... so see if she is.

ONLY GET involved with someone who you know is crazy about you or obsessed with you.

I forgot to mention that. If they don't act this way, look for someone else.

Also if they act JEALOUS of you...that's also a good sign.

But sure you can have a long distance relationship, you just don't tell each other what you do with other people to take care of your needs, since they can't for you. Sort of aggree'ed by both parties in silence when you get into one.

problem is often a quick jab with someone local can turn into love.

Randy and I were long distance for almost a year, He lived in North Caralina, and I lived in Baton Rouge, La., we set a goal to be together , for him to get out of the military and for me to finish beauty school, then we moved to Washington together where his parents live, things went well, got engaged, then 6 months later we were married and here we are 18 years later with 2 kids, happy in Mobile, Alabama and I wouldn't trade it for the world!!

So....give it a chance, we did....

I have been there before, so I know how you feel. Every text, every call, you hope it's from them. When you see their text or hear their voice, it brings a smile to your face. You can be having a really bad day, but once you are near them or talk to them, it's like you forget about all those small things.

But...

I want to give you some advice...

The most important thing to do, is to not rush things. Take it one day at a time. It's easier said than done, but you have to.

i live 3.5 hours from my fiance. i just transferred here after 2 1/2 years. we are getting married october. it can work. i was prepared to stick it out to the end. we had a few more years at most, but it worked out sooner now.
