Center console ticking

I drive a 2011 SS with automatic transmission. Recently the center console started making this ticking noise. It seems that the cause is that when I drive in Sports mode, the shifter vibrates with the motion of the car and it repeatedly hits the back part of the console.
Has anyone had this problem before and what did it take to fix it?

Ticking? Do you have any known enemies? Disperse immediately!

Sincere apologies to hear that your center console is making a ticking noise. May I offer to schedule an appointment for you at your local Chevrolet dealer? If there is anyway I can be of assistance, feel free to contact me via private message.

Thank you for the offer, but that is not necessary. I will have them check it the next time that I bring it in for an oil change. I was just wondering if is a common problem, but apparently is not.
