Col. Brain, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wive's, husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Hey everyone, Jake here and aim new to the forums. Just got a 2010 2ss/rs and need a lot of help with mods. The came with K&N cai, bmr strut tower brace, bmr front rear sway bars and bmr subframe connectors. Also has corsa cat back ex. And kooks lt headers and high flow cats new in a box. I heard once the headers and cats are installed I will need a tune? Is this true and if so anyone know any good shops in Maryland, Deleware area. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Hi and welcome Jake.

No, you don't need a tune after you install the headers but, there are a few things to be aware of:

- You will eventually throw a CEL (Check Engine Light). It does not hurt anything but it may annoy you and, depending on your state's inspection laws, you might not pass if they see the CEL.

- You won't get all the HP gains that you could with a tune.

I don't know of any tuners in your area but I do recommend checking with Maryland Speed. They are a great vendor to work with, a vendor sponsor of this forum, and I know they tune at their shop. I can't vouch for their tuning work but I know they do it.

Regarding tuning, there is a healthy debate about dyno vs. remote tuning (e-mail). You can search and read until you decide what you want to do. Whatever you decide, just make sure you do as much research about the tuner as you can cause. Think of it as it if you were picking a brain surgeon for yourself and you get the idea. If you decide to go with remote, Jannetty Racing is another great sponsor vendor on this site. He has done over 1,300 remote tunes for the Gen5 Camaros and has a lot fans. I just got my Jannetty tune two weeks ago. There are other good tuners as well.

Good luck!

Vince

Just purchased a 2013 2LT RS. Black with cyber grey twin stipes, Black Leather, sunroof, HUD, --loaded. Also, love it!! I am an Oldsmobile man, 1968 442 sports coupe in my garage, but this is now my every day ride. I passed my CTS to my wife, or should I say she took the keys...quickly!.
Anyway, I am looking forward to joining the Chevy ranks and kicking Dodge and Ford butt in another amazing GM product.
