Rasp

I have installed BBK LT and Flowmasters axle back system, and get this annoying rasp when accelerating. I have been reading about x-pipes and resonators from Magnaflow to remove the rasp. Is this the x-pipe others have used Part # 10791. What resonator is also used.

Your on the right track...what your thinking of is called a resonated X pipe. It is basically a muffler but the exhaust tracks through the muffler in an 'X' direction (like a True X pipe).

I have one on my car...and the part number I used is 11385. Should give you a very noticeable and positive change in sound. I'd say it should sound similar to OUR BEE's car with the resonated X installed, but probably slightly louder and a bit less muffled.

Which part number fits the stock V-6 exhaust pipes (in place of the stock resonators?) Anyone have pics of the resonated x-pipe installed?

I would think about swapping the AT exhaust. Even people without LTs are describing some raspyness with this exhaust. If you put on headers everything gets more extreme. Before you spend money for a resonated X you could also buy a set of new mufflers (only the mufflers) and try to fit them. IMO magnaflow and borla do have the less drone and raspy sound. Just a thought.

I have absolute no rasp with my setup (Injen, BBK LTs, Borla ProXS). I would say the same setup with magnaflow mufflers sounds as good as mine and is a lil louder (check out member OUR BEEs setup)

P.S.
... finally made a soundclip yesterday. Will upload soon.

I know the 2.25" mufflers i have are 2.5" internal but is the x pipe?
Let me know?

The rasp is gone. I had the Magnaflow Resonated X-Pipe installed today and the tone is deeper and quieter. It still barks when your foots in it which is ok.

I had MRT V1 axle back (2.5") and ARH LT Headers and Cats (2.5") and stock mid pipes (2.25") and I was getting some rasp. I picked up some SS midpipes (2.5") and it got rid of almost all of the rasp. I think going from 2.5" to 2.25" and then back to 2.5" is what is causing the rasp, might want to think about opening up the entire system.

That's an interesting idea Baylor. How much do those cost as opposed to the magnaflow resonated X-pipe.
