It's a rubber mat they provide to shield the heat. It fits over the radiator.

Oh, I love having this area open. With the stock box it was so cluttered.

Yep. Mine is flawless. 800 miles now and I have to say, I'm impressed. This isn't the old Vararam we'd originally been running. This is an entirely new deal. LOVE IT!!!

Yeah it looks like they changed it alot. I am glad it is working out for folks. Mine bucked liked crazy but it is one of the orginals. The heat mat should also help stabalize the radiator. They also moved the vacumn hose, it used to be across from the MAF but now they moved it back onto the rubber coupler going onto the throttle body.

Kind of wish they would replace the original ones with this one.

Looks very clean
still trying to decide between Vararam and Halltech.
And I have to look at the MAF (good or bad one)

Is the radiator still enough bolted to the car since you don't have the top two screws?

Just for reference, not like I have one...or maybe I do But you mentioned fitting the intake on the TB sleeve being a little tough. It also looked like that might be the case in the instructions, to me as well. Do you feel it might be easier to do the install by opening it up, temporarily removing the filter, and installing as two piece unit. Might not have to stretch the silicone coupler as much that way.

Just curious....is this still a 25-30 rwhp intake? What kind of power are they making now?
