Mitsubishi could pack up and head back to Japan tomorrow and nobody in the US would notice.

I just can't help but appreciate the car. I know they only sold 2k+ but for a company that produces sh!t like the Galant and your grandma's TV, you have to admit the EVO is one sweet ride.

*waiting for random abundant ricer comment*

Edit: oh yea and it's way to expensive

I disagree with you, not that I like their cars myself though. The evo's have quite a following in the tuner circles.

Might as well toss in Saab and Volvo in there; let them move back to the fjords.

Then again, GM, Ford, and Chrysler-Fiat should pull out of the Japanese market just the same. They sell what.. 3000 units a year?

Except the ones who know what an amazing drivers car the Evo was for the money. Also, the ones who are employed by Mitsubishi would probably notice. But whatever, what happened to the car mag consensus that the Evo was going to be reinvented as a hybrid performer?

They have a lot of fans in the car communities but for the average consumer, Mitsubishi is as relevant as Oldsmobile, and sales figures reflect that.

Their top sellers are the Galant and Outlander Sport, and both of those return pathetic sales figures when compared to the competition.

Hell, GM almost sold as many Camaros as Mitsubishi's entire lineup.

The demand is still there, but they simply no longer want to supply it. My first guess is it is not as profitable as they want it to be, or they believe their new plan, which was something to do with a new corporate image of EVs, will be more profitable than what the Evo can generate. BTW, sales only tell half of the story; profits is what drives companies to supply any good.

somewhere a ricer is crying..........

but seriously though....

I have driven a top of the line EVO....it is a very quick car....a blast to drive, light and grips the road very well....the Euro version is even better...too bad they are going to focus on shitty cars that aren't as fun to drive....
