Squash Fuel System options?

Can someone please explain to me what the difference is in the options available with the Squash Dual Fuel System?

Plumbing:
-6 supply and return line
-8 supply and return line

I am going to guess and say that is the gauge of the line? This would make the -6 line larger and allow for more flow. If that is the case is it detrimental to have too large of a line? Or can I go with the larger line to begin with planning for future mods?

-8 is the larger line. I went with a -8 feed and -8 return. Most go with a -6 return using the factory feed.

Hmmm... Why is the -6 more expensive than the -8 then when it is selected on their site?

I need to upgrade my system to keep up with my procharger. I am just trying to figure out why to choose one over the other.

-6 is probably the mostly widely used and more expensive to make. That' just a guess. You'll be fine with a -8 feed and 6 return. Tons of HIGH hp builds run 8/6 combos. If you think you might go crazy at some point -8 feed/return and be done with it.

Well I might as well go -8 then. It's cheaper and if I do ever (doubt it) decide to go really big on the power I will be covered.

What plans do you have that would warrant that much fuel?

I don't really... as of right now I need to upgrade for my current set up and it is cheaper to go with the larger lines for some reason. As long as it is not detrimental to the performance of the car then I don't see any point in buying smaller lines when I can go bigger and never have to worry about upgrading in the future if it ever came to that point.

LSXr Ported Intake Manifold.
Nick Williams 102mm Throttle Body.
Fast Billet Fuel Rails.
MSD ignition wires.
Stainless Works 2" LT Headers.
Stainless Works 3" Retro chambered exhaust
P1SC Procharger (install & tune by Cunningham Motorsports).

I have the 6lb pulley on it, but I have an 8lb pulley waiting to be put on once I upgrade the fuel system.

Just FYI: You don't need a dual pump for 8 psi.

Ok, now I understand. You posted in the bolt-on section instead of the FI section so I didn't know if you were boosted. Some guys just feel they NEED more fuel when NA, when in most cases, they don't.

I don't think you're anywhere close to NEEDING bigger feed/return lines, but if you want to spend the time and $$ to upgrade, you won't ever have to worry about it again. I do think you need a dual pump setup, if you don't already have it. You MIGHT could get away with a ZL1 pump and controller but it's gonna be close. It's not THAT much more for a good LPE or squash dual pump setup. I think the stock lines will supply enough fuel until you REALLY increase the power.

-6 and -8 refer to the 16ths of an inch OUTSIDE diameter of the hose. So a -6 is 6/16 (3/8) OD.

I'm running the factory feed line with a -8 adapter to a y-block to -6 for each rail and a -6 return line with my Squash setup. That's more than enough fuel for 1kwhp and then some.

Agreed, however if I have to upgrade my fuel system I only want to do it once. I always end up buying what works for what I have only to have to upgrade again when I do something else. I just want to go all the way so I don't have to further down the road.

As long as the overkill is not detrimental to HP and Torq gains.

With your setup, you're just a cam swap away from mid to 600's which will be on the ragged edge of what a ZL1 pump can handle. I agree that if you have to upgrade the fuel pump, might as well over shoot it, as long as it doesn't cost a small fortune.
