I was able to get out and drive with mine today... exactly the same experience!

I have the CAI and loved it! I bought it because i was told that it is Magnuson Supercharger compatible. Well, I just got off of the phone and was told that it took an extra hour (100 bucks) to adapt the CAI to the Maggie. Just a heads up to those that are intending to supercharge some day! Other than that, I love mine too.......but had I known there was going to be an issue, I would have poss gone with rotofab

I installed my CAI about a week ago and the fit and finish was great! Exhaust has a nice tone....it will work until I get a chance to throw some mufflers on it. Overall, Im very pleased with CAI induction unit

just did my exhaust and you cant really hear the cai anymore because its loud as hell !!

from what I have heard from CAI, to supercharge you just need to change the filter that shouldnt cost 100 $ or take too long to install iwas thinking ahead a bit

All ready got my replacement air box in the mail today and put it on. Fits like a champ. I am certain it was the mounting tab on the air box where the nut tightens down. It was about 1/4 inch too low. When I installed this one I had about a 1/4 inch gap between the mount and the fender before tightening, where as the faulty box mount all ready layed flush before tightening, therefore causing a gap due to the mount being slightly too low (causing the box to be too high). This allowed the box to clamp down somewhat and fit snug against the fender well, giving the box clearance near the corner of the hood to allow the rubber seal to fit. Works great now

CAI customer service A++. Thanks again CAI

Best of three I have had over the years. Chevrolet dealer loved it and they said it won't void my warranty (dealer dependent). At first they said yes until yesterday when they saw it in.

Agree with link author... nasty is a good word for the sound when you get on it. definitely noticeable in mid range in 3rd gear at lower rpms. Heres a pick....
