Equity vs depreciation. Who gets what? I leased a dozen vehicles in my life. Last 6 I bought because where I live now I put on to many miles. Leasing is the best option if you don't keep cars for more than two years and can stay within the mileage. Op, I'd shoot for 0 down.

.... Yea. You shouldn't pay sticker when leasing either, dude... Your math is still off there, guy. By a bit.

A lease on a camaro is tricky because you'll want to mod it. Like it has been said already, but the deal sounds pretty good actually. How much of that $4.5k down is security deposit that'll you'll be getting back? Put that towards a 50th edition 6th gen when all is said and done

A friend of mine sells cars and he once told me that he would rather lease one car a week instead of sell 4. That is the difference on the profit for a dealer on a lease. However, it is your money and do what you want. I leased once and will never do it again.

I am a current Chevy salesman and I will tell you that what he said is and isn't true. The fact is that the dealer paid the same for the car regardless and there is no change in MSRP for a lease. Dealer hold back and everything is equal as well. The only major change is that most customers when leasing a car see the low payment and sign instead of arguing over the price of the vehicle.

@OP: Once again congrats on the purchase and new ride! I mean it though about that smart lease program. I bought it for my leased camaro because of the horror stories I experience at work almost every week.

I am seriously going to think about leasing the next car i buy, I don't think i have ever kept a car over two or three years, so i think i would enjoy the fact of knowing i wouldn't lose my arse every time i trade

Is this your first 5th gen Camaro? If it is, you'll eat those words. Also, it's a 5th gen Camaro. Hope you bought extra miles because you're going to want to drive it. A LOT!

You lease jellybean cars or cars you don't care about. You want to OWN a Camaro. I guess I'll never understand about leasing a Camaro. Unless it's a business write-off, etc., it makes no financial sense to me.

What are the numbers?
Residual.
Cap cost.
Interest.
Buy at end of lease price.
Does the down payment include:Tax, title and dmv?

At face value it looks like a good lease but these numbers will tell the true tale.
Leasing is not for everyone but my wife and I have leased for over 20 years and love getting a new car every three years with never a worry about warranty and repairs.
