Stainless Works

My exhaust broke. It was SW troubleshooting that came up with some one cutting my X pipe. Ummm...really? I mean, we're talking a real little fellow here to be able to slide under the Camaro. After sending a photo in an email twice, (had already spoke to them about their life time warranty on the phone) and getting no response (waited five days after each email for a response) , I called and they replied they would get back to me. On the third working day later, I called them. I could either drive 350 miles to them and they would weld it, or I could remove it, send it to them for it to be repaired, and they would send it back to me. Who knows how long that would take for my Camaro to be down between shipping both ways, and the repair itself.

That doesn't sound good. Did they explain why they couldn't just ship you a new X-pipe?

Nope. Broke clean in half too. I really thought that they would have sent an X pipe. However, I suppose that anyone else should expect to have their Camaros down while the exhaust/headers are removed, shipped, repaired, shipped.

Yeah, if that's what they require they really should have certified shops around the country so you aren't down for days over an exhaust issue.

Holley backs up their warranty by an exchange and then puts the repaired carb on ebay. I got a 600CFM with electric choke for under $200. Most people can not have their daily drivers down for a week, or likely more, for just an X pipe.

It broke. There is no way anyone was messing with me by getting under the Camaro and cutting it.

that looks like a pretty darn straight cut to me. Not calling you a liar or anything but even if there was a weld there how would that break in such a clean straight way?

When I spoke to the exhaust shop that removed it, I asked the same thing. He said stainless breaks like that, doesn't bend. There isn't a weld there. I thought it may have been in a strain when it was installed.
It started off as getting louder. During the intial cold start, it rattled my heat shields . Then it got loud a few days later, with next day, it was loud enough to get pulled over.
