Hypothetical Comparison

So we all remember Ted's testing of the ARH headers. The results were:

Stock Peak Numbers 373 RWHP 378 RWTQ

1.75 long tube headers w high flow cats Peak 401.1 HP 403.8 TQ
1.75 long tube headers w high flow cats Average 281.2 HP 363.9 TQ

1.875 long tube headers w high flow cats Peak 406.8 HP 407.5 TQ
1.875 long tube headers w high flow cats Average 283.7 HP 366.6 TQ

2.0 long tube headers w high flow cats Peak 411.7 HP 408.9 TQ
2.0 long tube headers w high flow cats Average 288.1 HP 368.1 TQ

Now if we compare the DT long tubes based on their site posted info then hypothetically we would have seen the following:

392 RWHP
413 RWTQ

Comparing 1 3/4" to 1 3/4" there would be:

+10 TQ
-9 HP

We all would agree that ARH make a great product. The interesting piece is at what point in the RPM range does that -9WHP gap exist. If at the upper RPM range not gonna see much difference at the track. If it is in the "meat" of the RPM range probably a slight difference however I think the +10WTQ would more than make up for the ET and less than 1 MPH loss.

That alone almost has me sold on the DT's.

Well stated Sir.

I've been trying to push the word out...we'll see. With the money that I saved vicethe Kooks, I'm already pushrods and springs ahead of the game.

Just time to nail down that dam Cam choice!

Thanks for the ratings everyone! I appreciate the feedback...

Great write up Ivan!!
The #'s posted above are peak #'s. We shoot for max usable power so peak is sometimes lower than my competitors. Attached is the dyno for the long tube. Look at 4600 rpm PLUS 30 hp and 34 tq!!

lol...you gave me some great info as well!! You know you did.

I did a helluva buncha homework and talked directly to people that work directly for Thorley as well. Saw the prototype car get it's catback, saw the dynos, finally got em to ship me out a set.

There are so many choices and these were the best ones that I could see for the money.

You and Lambert helped me here and showed me some good vids that you made. I appreciate that.

Pass the word....the goodness is here!,

...so any news on the DT Catback system you said you were getting? Would love to hear a sound clip of the whole DT package you'll have.

Talked to the Dizzy Friday. They were stil awaiting the last pieces (the actual tips) so that they could ship out. From what I gather, they ended up going with a totally different tip. Looks alot like the Kooks tip from my opintion. I'm getting rather impatient too.

Believe me, I will post up the day I get them.

Thank you for the interest as well. I don't think anyone will be disappointed!

You guys are getting the same response that I am I take it?

"The Tips..?"

I have 11 sets coming (mine and 10 more)....I am dying to get em since I have 7 sold already.

Rest assured, when they get released, we'll all see confetti falling from the sky between parted velvet ropes.
