Road trip from North Carolina to Seattle

Well, just got back from a fun trip driving out to Seattle from North Carolina to see the opening game. I took a side trip to San Francisco as well before heading back. Got home last night.

Unfortunately, my battery on my good camera went bad, so I'm waiting on Amazon for a battery, so I can't upload those pics yet. Here's what I got off my cell phone. I will upload a few more pictures later this week.

While I was in Seattle, I headed out to Bremerton to go bracket racing with friends out there I hadn't seen for a while.

Good omen heading out to the game?

The long and winding road. I like the winding part.

Seahawks cheerleaders hanging out with the fans.

Seahawks gathering together before the game.

1-0 every week.

Near Cape Flattery

About as far northwest as you can drive in the contiguous United States. Guess I need to drive to Alaska next.

Santa Cruz. Had to make a stop at Levi's Stadium (those pictures are on my real camera)

To go 190 or not...I didn't

I'm pretty sure I made it out of the Rockies just in time.

I came back from Tacoma via Mt. Hood and Winnemucca this July
. You don't even see cars for a long time on the stretch of road I took.

Over the course of the last few months, I've seen some really lonely roads (which are awesome).

I stayed on main highways (40 & 70) for most of the eastern side of the trip both ways. I find the lonely roads of the west to be much more enjoyable...I like real mountains, I suppose.

I went from Durham, NC to Topeka, KS. Then to Vernal, UT on day 2. Anacortes, WA on day 3. That day, I came back through Pullman, WA, Spokane, WA and along Route 20 which is a favorite highway of mine. Did mostly 6am to midnight runs for those.

I stayed out in Washington until Monday, and took my time heading down Pacific Coast Highway. I left Santa Cruz, and came back via Sonora Pass, then made my way to Route 50, though eventually I got on to 70 at night which took me in to Boulder. From Boulder, I took 50 quite a long ways until I again got on 70, then 40 taking me home.

Sigh...I've been a fan of the Seahawks since 1979.
