Ya but BMW has a bit more leeway in terms of what they can do because people are paying 2 to 3 times as much for one. I agree with everyone who says that the DRL's will be common to all Camaro's and that probably means the amber lights. It would be cool if RS cars could turn on the Halos at will though.

So, that would have to make the parking lamps the DRLs.
Could be the fog lights.

Nope, same harnesses, just change a setting in the computer.

Actually, you can turn them 'off' at will! AND if you can turn them off you can turn them on!

In my cobalt and my saturn ION you can turn DRL's off if you want, theres an option right next to the steering wheel in both cars. I would then assume that you have that option with the Camaro halos.

Check this thread out! Look at all the pictures with the DRL's running in multiple shots. To say the least, its VERY impressive!

RS is the way to go! I'd suggest sacrificing a few extra $$ for this option, if you can of course. Enjoy! I know I am.

EDIT: Didn't realize that 'theholycow' had provided a pic as well.

EDIT#2: Here is an even cooler one!

If you notice, on the piture that theholycow posted up, the amber side marker is lit too.... doesnt that usually only come one is the parking lights are on. If you look at at fastball's sig picture, there are no DRL's or parking lights, or any lights on the front end that are lit. Maybe it doesn have DRL's. I dont know, I'm just SUPER guessing.

Not all cars give you the ability to disable the DRL's.

My '02 Camaro didn't, nor does my '05 Aveo.

My '00 S10 did though.

Actually, if you have a stick, the DRLs only turn off when the E-brake is activated, and on an auto, the DRLs only turn off when in park. (Unless your car is really different...)

It really depends on how they wire it up.. if the high beams are the DRL on the Halogen bulbs, then it wouldn't be any different then the Halo's in terms of wiring.

I really hope that the amber parking lines are not the DRLs.. i hate amber DRLs... If they are, they're getting an ol' fasion disable on my ride. I'll have the Halo's so it'll be legal.

I don't mind DRL's at all, and having them saves on insurance money - so I'm all for them no matter what they look like.

I really havn't gotten into too much research in this DRL business but from what I remember from messing with the lights, I had the DRL's turned off for about a week and activated them for no reason after that. Why I turned them off? I don't know, just seeing what was possible.

...and I hate high beam (or even low beam) DRLs. They take a glare-producing light fixture and use it as a position marker and expect it to not glare just because they've partially reduced the intensity...and it still makes lots of glare -- and on cars without automatic headlights it results in the driver forgetting to turn on the headlights and driving with just the DRLs (partial illumination, no side markers and no taillights).

I don't think any high beams are used for DRL's. You'd be blinding the oncoming vehicles, just like high beams at night.

In the Camaro specifications booklet, it says the fog lights will be the DRLs with the RS package. So I guess the turn signal lights will be the DRLs for non-RS cars.

I am seriously considering rewiring the halos to work as the DRLs, depending how and when they are illuminated.
