How can we???

Would you guys join a Camaro club?
(or just a car club?)

Our Camaro club is looking to get new blood in to our group, Not because the old blood is lacking anything, but having new blood & new Ideas would be great.

was wondering of the new camaro owners (even those that dont have them yet) Who would be willing to join a camaro club, become a part of that family (ours is a very good family)

What would stop you from joining that club & what would say Hey thats something I wouldnt mind finding some more information out about that club?

Let me know that way I can pass it on to our current officer group.

For me, it would come down how much time would be involved.

I was a member of a VW club many years ago, all the meetings consisted of was bickering about money and personal drama between members. I have a feeling this would probably be a more mature group (I would hope so) so maybe that wouldn't be an issue.

Another thing, I see you are from Yelm. Where are most of the members from?

lol the only fighting we normally have is the president who owns a 67 camaro & the treasures husband who owns a 69 camaro lol.

we do get in to heated discussions, but they are normally in good fun, lol normally

depends on where you think, most of our members are willing to travel.

but our meetings are held in Tukwilla, currently, sometimes they do change like during the summer months we have them at members homes or at a show location.

My husband & I have been part of this group for 10yrs now & traveled for many years to lynnwood

You know, I think I joined your website a few years ago and never posted anything.

Once I have my '10 (or can convince my Dad to get the '67 going again) I will try and meet up with you guys.

I will try and make it, but probably won't be driving a Camaro.

I just looked on PNWCC, I don't see my username.

Besides you, I haven't heard anything a lot of good about pnwcc. Also besides you and your husband I haven't met a lot of really nice members. in 2007 when I got transferred to WA I was checking out the clubs here, I attended I think 3 of your events. 2 I was alone and had alone, and the third I came with another group. the first 2 events I was trying to learn more about your being a member...me and my V6 got ignored. To be fair there were alot of great cars and people at the events. It also seemed like most the in club 1st gen owners were jerks (in general). Then I learned that most of your officers were 1st gen owners.

Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to bash, just giving you my accounts as a guy new to the north west car scene. The scene's different in the south. To your credit you do throw some good events. Im still looking for a camaro club here...but like I said the attitude is a bit different here

There are several Groups out there that will talk nice to our clubs face & then Smash our group everytime they can. I do know of one that shows up to our events just to do that. (not fun to be standing back & hearing that from someone who claims to be friends.)

Believe it or not Those of our group that does own 1st gens Just dont own 1st gens. They do own other gens as well.

I personally dont own a 1st gen, But we own 2nd, 3rd & 4th gens.

I will forward this information on to our offiers (which my husband & I are) & let them know. this is also why we are looking for new blood, to let the older members have a rest because over the last 20 some years no one else wants to step forward to run the club.

Oh Looking for a club down there, Check out CRCC http://www.columbiarivercamaro.com/

I know what your saying....thats why I didn't join "that" group. I'm a no drama type of guy, I can understand things getting heated within a group...but the high school stuff was too much for me. Like I said you guys do throw some great events. If it weren't for my work scheduele and living in OR now, I'd have made the 3+ hr drive to attend a few of them.

The reason we aren't members of the local group anymore is because the need for a local club for information sharing pretty much died when the internet became so widely available to everyone about 10 years ago. The internet has exposed everyone to a global network of new Camaro friends who can communicate daily as opposed to a local monthly meeting and occasional car show. It's just a sign of the times as technology has changed the social structure of our lives.
We still gather friends together to go to dinner and car related events, but there's no need to disseminate the info through monthly meetings or a snail-mailed newsletter anymore. We can communicate through message forums, email lists, social networking sites, cell phones, etc. It's all about technology and embracing it to fulfill our social lives in a new way.

But people are social and that is the point. Get out and meet people and enjoy these fantastic vehicles in person. It really isn't the same as a picture. My biggest hold back on joining your group is the fact that everything scheduled out for the most part has been on the west side. Not to be anti-social, but you know I just don't like to have to go to somebody else's house all the time. Of course if we got enough east siders going maybe we could get something rolling on both sides of the mountain and keep everyone happy.
