1LE 3 season Tires

Ok so by the time I get my 1LE delivered it's going to be probably end of August/September and I will have to switch my 1LE tires off for something that works better in the cold weather.

I live in NY and we get snow here and there depending on the year (usually its a LOT of snow or none at all) but sometimes we get days where an inch or two is all we get. This isnt the fluffy kind that gets untouched either, its mostly compacted or really slushy.

My question is should I go for dedicated snow tires for fall/winter/spring(we have cold springs lately) or will an all season tire work well?

I plan on getting Factory Reproductions wheels in the exact same size as my originals and I want to keep the tires the same size as well.

I DO NOT plan on driving my car in the very heavy snow just light snow if that makes a difference.

I have looked around at a bunch of threads and I was about to pull the trigger on dedicated snows like blizzaks or the Sottozeros but I'm having second thoughts after finding yet another thread regarding this.

P.S. The description of the Sottozeros say they are a fall/winter/spring tire but for the cost maybe there is a better one?

You want to roll through snow on 10s and 11s? If that's what you're set on doing, I'd try to find snow tires. Good luck with that search tho. Can't think of any off the top of my head.
Normally you want to go narrower for snow/rain/slush. I've read good things about blizzaks, but obviously I'm not an authority on the subject since my camaro has only seen the island so far

Continental Tire asserts that wider winter tires have several advantages:

Interesting...runs counter to everything I've been taught, but I'd like to think the head of development for a major manufacturer knows what he's talking about. Then again, it's been years since I've driven through the white stuff now, and before I always just kept my all-seasons on.
I'd Ike to see their actual data, just for curiosity's sake

I run the first set of snow tires I've ever owned on mine.

I run Pirelli's in stock SS sizes.

Car handles great. I even got rid of all the sand bags I used to use over the last ten years.

I could have gotten all-season tires but I am happy with the snow tires, car is a beast, and this was even last year when I was a 12.3@112 car.

They don't have the scorpions in the same size as the stock tire 285/35/20 10/11" wide wheels. The other pirellis are very good and they come in the right size. They are super expensive though. I think the best bet might be to get a different sized tire for the winter that fit on the 20/10/11" rims That I have. Maybe a 275 all around instead of 285

Would a 275/40/20 tire fit on an 11" wheel? Or would the wheel be too wide for the tire?

You can run same size as SS.

If you are going to run in the snow you really NEED snow tires with this car. I don't think you can get through a winter on all season unless you have an alternate car to drive when the weather gets bad. High horsepower, wide wheels and tires as well as rear wheel drive is not a good reciepe for snow. This is why winter tires are needed for these cars.

I do have a Jeep wrangler unlimited I can use during the winter when it snows. I wouldn't use it as a daily driver as I share it with another person but I could use it. I would mostly be driving the camaro in the cold winter months when there is no snow or if I'm at work and it starts to flurry and I need to get home before the real snow hits.

Anyone know how many miles the Pirelli Sottozero II's last? I can't seem to find the info anywhere
