Clicking Noise

Hello.

I noticed that whenever I put my car in reverse and backup, I can hear a clicking noise that seems to be coming from under the front of the car.
It only seems to do this in reverse and it is consistent, about every second.
I can shift from park, to neutral, and back and it doesn't make the noise.
I have a 2/SS with the automatic transmission.
I don't seem to have any transmission shifting or overheating problems.
I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow to have the stripe put on, and he's going to check it out for me.
Has anyone had this problem, or may know what could be causing this?
I talked to another member with a 2/SS auto, and they don't have the sound, so it's definitely a normal noise.

Thanks.

Same thing with mine. She's in the shop waiting for a couple of parts.

Service guy didn't know exactly what parts. Said
the mechanics ordered them and will be here w/in a couple of days.
I should have her back by tomorrow. I'm sure the parts will be
listed on the work order and I will let you know.

What was the word on yours?

I have a 2LT with 6M and I get the noise during deceleration just as I come to a stop; gradual acceleration as well.

Took it to dealer and the service manager for a ride and replicated the sound. They checked it out and could not find anything "wrong". They supplied me a bulletin that said the LLT motor has a clicking due to the high pressure fuel pump and injectors.

FWIW it doesn't sound like the clicking is coming from the engine; sounds like it's the trans. I'll keep an eye (ear) on it.

I'm 19,736. It's a very faint sound at first. Keep windows up and radio off. I've had no other symptoms that seem to be trans related other than this "soft" noise.

The clicking moves with the speed of the car, does it in any gear, clutch in our out, ac/blower on and off. Can't hear after about 10 mph during acceleration. I've shared with the dealer the posts that seem to relate to this, like CV joint.

Hey guys I have a 1lt 6A and I am getting the noise as well? Dealer didn't sound to bright when I called them about it. Having them look at it when I get my front lip installed since that has to sit over night as well. If anyone has more info please fill me in. Thanks

So what's the cause?
My 2SS/RS L99 A6 also does some clunking when I back up down the driveway.
