New here with a new1LE

Just wanted to introduce myself,I recently just traded in a 2013 5.0 for a 2013 IOM 2ss 1le.Ive never had an ls motor (several friends do) just an lt1 so far Im happy with it.I love the color and the way it rides compared to the 5.0,but it does feel a little more sluggish though. I have a few questions for you guys and i would appreciate any help and advice.

Where do you guys recommend I buy parts from? The mustangs seem to have a lot more dedicated websites to parts it seems or am I just not looking hard enough lol.I do love how the parts seem to be cheaper like exhaust and of course cams. What do you guys recommend starting with on mods?

What are the problem areas with these cars. The mustang has the mt82 and the number 8 cylinder problems anything to look out for on these?Sorry for the long post.

Wonderful car and congrats ! I would start with the vendor sponsors on here. I really loved what the LT headers did to this engine

For the sluggishness it is probably due to having lower octane gas in the engine on the first runs, which will change the fuel tables. Unfortunately just putting in higher octane won't fix it. You need to do a fuse pull. I suggest running a tank or 2 of higher octane gas to make sure the old stuff is flushed out, and doing a fuse 5 and 20 pull (forum search it or go to the wiki). Pretty common complaint when first getting the car. Also, the car will liven up quite a bit more once you put a couple thousand miles on it (post break in period).

So run a few full tanks first then pull the number 5 and 20 fuse in the engine bay?

Thanks everyone!I plan on doing longtubes which brand not sure yet.I ve searched on here and a lot of ppl like tsp and theyre only 2 hours away from me.I had pacesetters painted on my lt1 i wont go that cheap again ive also had kooks on an 08 bullitt and they were amazing.

Another Mustang to Camaro owner. I love it! Welcome to the 1LE club! Nice car too of course.

Some owners, myself included, have had notchy-noisy shifting and not so easy 1-2 shifting. If it is bad enough you can take it into the dealer to have it checked. Mine found a possible bearing issue and replaced them (in the rear diff.) It did not help shifting but they also changed my clutch fluid (which also serves the brakes in our cars) due to it being "merky". Many on here go to the high-temp dot4 fluid in the car and I plan on doing the same. Have fun!!

Welcome to the forum! If you need any help with parts, look around the vendor section, or you can always send me a PM directly!

Enjoy the new car!

Yes, it's just to make sure that you've eliminated most of the older stuff that's already in there.

No, the 5 and 20 fuses are under the hood in the fuse block there.

There is one other fuse under the trunk area but not clear if it helps this issue or not.
