even though the 1le probably feels good and maybe "handles" better than a Zl1. i would still think a ZL1 will get a better track time.

Because stock SS Camaros have run 12.7s. The mag times are a poor indicator of what a regular SS actually runs. In all honesty, I think that with the 3.91 rear, and sticky 285 series rears, the 1LE will be even faster than that, and quicker than a Brembo packaged 5.0 as well.

We agree. It was way faster in the hot lap.

Not many of them in the fast list here. One I think. Also the 111.8 is top of list on a stock LS3. Obviously we need to start a new list.

Love this car!

Have they released the catalog prices or is this just a rough estimate?

Of course it would. And any racing sanctioning body would put the two cars in separate classes.

Z06 Corvette handles better then the ZR1 Corvette, I see the 1LE and ZL1 in the same light as those two (just how it worked out).

I think people put too much stock in these words. I can remember Randy Pobst saying the ZL1 was his new favorite American muscle car, unseating the Boss LS. It doesn't really mean much. Just words. Numbers speak for themselves. ZL1 is no doubt the top performing factory Camaro and for the price it better be. The 1LE is an outstanding factory option and may handle better, whatever that means, but the ZL1 will lap faster.

Handling is much harder to quantify than simple lap times and skidpad or even slalom measurements, although I think Car and Driver did publish two or three articles over the years where attempts at doing just that were made.

I'd certainly expect the heavier ZL1 to turn in a little less "crisply" than a 1LE, given that the front tires and wheels are the same for both.

Yeah, they should have offered the npp long ago for the Camaros. It was a must have option for me, when ordering the 1LE

Word on the street is that 1LE track times are better than the ZL1. And the ZL1 doesn't have time to take advantage of the super charger. Also, the 1LE doesn't suffer from heat soak as much as the Mustangs, so the 1LE wins on longer races.

Just what I've been reading/watching. Makes sense to me.
