I kept looking and did some research and i went with Manzo Headers. My tuner installed them and redyno, removed cats, installed hp x-pipe into cherry bomb extremes. WOW.......what a difference that made. They installed as easy or better than the high priced kooks. You wont believe your ears how loud and awesome the sound is.

Ive installed many sets of TSP 1 7/8 headers in these cars and never any fitment issues. Even the 2" primary headers fit great. Cant beat the price or quality either.

There isn't much difference between headers in terms of performance. Price, on the other hand, can vary wildly.

From what I've seen, if money is NO OBJECT, you'll probably get the best results between either Kooks' stepped headers or LG's longtube headers. The stepped header theory increases exhaust velocity and therefore power. They don't have to be Kooks, but Kooks is the only brand I know off the top of my head that stocks them on the shelf.

The LG header has a specially designed collector. I don't think you'll see a damn bit of difference between a standard 1 7/8" header between ARH, Kooks, Stainless Works/Stainless Power, etc. Those LG's though really intrigue me. Look into them.

I have TSP Headers 1 7/8" . they went in no problem. even with spark plugs/ steering linkage in.. bolted right up.. my friend got the TSP 2 " and he had a small clearance issue with the frame.

my power is relative to my previous mods though so its not a straight comparsion of manifolds to headers... but, the numbers before the headers on my cam only build/tune were 420rwhp/411rwtq

after changing just headers base line was then 436/rwhp394rwtq.

then after some dyno tuning finally made 458rwhp/rw408tq

keep in mind these dyno runs were at seperate dynos and different shops.. however both mustang dynos... maybe why i probly lost some torque in the print out.. i dunno. anyways. now reading this post really the only info im offering you is that the TSP 1 7/8 were the cheapest hands down (cost wise) and fit perfectly .. ive been runnin them for almost 3 years now with no issues....

How much more horsepower does kooks stepped headers make more than regular?

If you want the best then kooks headers are the way to go, but they are pricey.
