clutch burn on launch control??

i tried my launch control the other day and it burned or at least sure smelled like it burned the hell out of the clutch, i let it out fast but did not pop it by any means. the car has 1200 miles on it, the clutch should be broke in right? is this normal?

This is not normal, but yes, this is a problem on these cars. It has been noted throughout the forums. GM claims we are not lifting off the clutch fast enough. If you go through the TSB section here, you will find some information.

Somewhere on here, someone is putting out a larger bore master cylinder, I believe, which seems to be helping with the pedal not coming up all the way. (That is why the clutch is burning). It happens under spirited driving.
