2015 Intake question - foam piece

I recently installed an Airaid system and in their system you reuse the stock intake into the air box. In the picture below, the intake has a foam piece around it that presumably butts up against the inlet. My new-to-me 2015 L99 did not have that foam piece, but otherwise the inlet tube was the same and easily fit on the Airaid piece.

Is that foam supposed to be there on the 2015s, or was it lost over time as part of one of GM's infamous cost-saving measures?

I used to have the Airaid installed on my 2015 SS L99 and the stock inlet didn't have the foam on it either. I just installed it without the foam and didn't have any issues. I miss that cai, it seemed to perform better than the favorites in the forums.

I had the foam piece on my 2014. I'm sure the 2015 comes with it, but I wouldnt worry about it.
