Godon Hutchinson. Your right on. When I start my car when cooler out it makes that noise. Knocks loud slow faster faster faster and softer till fades away. This is not a normal sound and my dealer can't diagnose it. Sucks. 8000 miles and my car makes more noise at start up then the old beater in the car port next to me

Blues45th; Is your knocking coming from the rear of the car or engine bay? The noise Iam talking about is from the trunk area of the car shortly after starting the car, and om MY SS it is completely normal its a fuel presure check. Not sure if the V6 does this or not.

My V6 engine quietly taps (valves) all the time. The irregular tapping in the trunk area is only while it is in Park and after several miles of driving. That louder sound leads me to believe it's the baffles in the exhaust system. When it comes out of hibernation, |

Is in the rear of the car almost sounds like passenger side rear or in the middle behind back seat. Crazy and not normal lol. And just like said starts usually in cooler temps and after 2 min or so on start up. Loud slow then fades with faster. All from rear. Anyone know a bulletin number. My dealership is really good and since my torque issue twice and gm also stepping in. They will be happy to help if I have more info for them. I was first car for the torque problem. Thanks guys for more info so I know I'm not losing my mind n the knocking of person in trunk lol. Honestly first time I heard it about 10 days after having car I did get out and check the trunk. Lol. Enjoy the Sunday. And if in the north east. My thought s are with you all be careful.

For me, the sound appears when I pull in the driveway after having been out on the road. The first time I heard it, it sounded like someone was on my neighbor's roof hammering singles. A distant sound with an irregular pattern: tap-tap.....tap-tap-tap.....tap.....tap-tap-tap. Then, I realized it was 11 o'clock at night! I think it might be Morse Code for "Sell this car in the Spring." |

I think i found the problem after months. It seems that the passengers seat was a bit loose and when the car would start to shake a little it would tap metal to metal and make a clicking noise.
I noticed the sound was a bit louder and was trying to find where it was coming from while driving the car. So after i tried lifting the passengers seat up with my hand the sound stopped . The one of the main bolts was the problem and seems to have stopped the clicking for now. I will keep you guys/gals posted if it continues and see if i can post a picture later
