Bluetooth Streaming Audio Question

Just wondering. I have an iPhone4 which is working flawlessly through both USB and Bluetooth streaming music.

I like the USB because it charges the phone at the same time, and displays the music info on the radio. Is the Bluetooth streaming supposed to have the music info displayed on the radio too or is that only on USB?

I have the #7509 PDIM installed, software version is DA/DX.

Thanks!

Mine doesn't either but I don't think it is supposed to. I don't believe that is part of the specs.

You just pair your phone with your radio. The steps are in the manual.

I guess we will find out on Wednesday when iOS 5 is released!

BTW iPhone 4S utilizes bluetooth 4.0 technology whereas iPhone 4 utilized 2.1, wondering how that will impact the sound quality. Right now the audio sounds like an AM radio over bluetooth.

I had also asked this when the Droid Bionic came out on Verizon because it supposedly has the same spec. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=169641

I believe we found out it's not just up to the phone to support this but the radio has to support it too.

As far as I can tell, the factory radio does not support it, therefore I don't think it will work.

Our Camaros and iPhones support A2DP (Advance Audio Distribution Profile) technology which is what allows the phone to stream music over bluetooth.

Right now the car supports A2DP v1.2 which does not support txt transmission, but it does support fast forward/rewind functions.

Unless GM updates the A2DP profiles on our cars, sadly I don't think we will be able to enjoy the Bluetooth 4.0 benefits

Works fine with iOS 5. I've been using the GM of 5 for a week and had no problems.

Go get your official release now!

This is really awesome news. I pre-ordered an iPhone4s (will arrive tomorrow) mainly because the Bluetooth on my piece of crap HTC Incredible (Droid) stopped working with my car once the latest piece of crap software release was pushed to my phone. I cannot wait to have Bluetooth working again in my car.

Using an iPhone 4S in iOS 5 should be awesome... Reply to text messages without taking it out of your pocket. At least it should work.

How the heck would that work? Would love to see what autocomplete might do to some of my texts if I can't see what it's typing...
