Camaro Plant to be closed for 1 week.

Mods, if this is in the wrong location please move it.

I spoke with my dealership earlier today and was told that GM has decided to only close the plant for 1 week vs 2 weeks and will go ahead with the 6 day a week production cycle after the plant is brought back online.

I know that there are many of you that have been waiting on your car's for a long time and it seems like your being left in the dark when it comes to information. I know this isn't what you wanted to hear, but I think its better than not knowing anything. However, I didn't catch the exact dates the plant will be shutting down. Sorry.

Again, sorry for those of you who ordered last year that are still waiting, but it looks like all the problems are slowly being worked out. When your car's finally arrive the front breaks won't have "vibration isolation modules" attached.

If GM files bankruptcy June 1st all bets are off. Camaro plant will be shut down indefinitely till GM emerges from bankruptcy.

I don't think they are as bad off as Crysomemore. I think they will be able to keep their suppliers happy.

Camaro plant scheduled 1 week closing in June WILL NOT HAPPEN! It's been all over the Canadian news, they are too busy, and have to keep up with demand production for our car. They also stated lots of overtime available and will be adding a Saturday shift (DON'T SHOOT THE MESSENGER IF THINGS CHANGED, BUT I DON'T THINK THEY HAVE).

^^^^^If that is correct, that's great news. I just wanted to give a quick heads up to those that may not have heard about it. There were other threads a while back that said the Canada plants would not be closing, then I heard this today from a fairly reliable dealer. I would hope that GM would keep the plant open just to get funds coming in from more delivered cars.

Plus, it wouldn't hurt my feelings to get my car before September.

How about we get some of that OT or Saturday shifts in Pontiac to fix those cars while some of us still want the damn things.

My dealer told me the Camaro was sourced from Ford Motor Company as a rebadged Mustang. I'm crushed but my dealer can't be wrong. I mean he works for Chevy, right?

Be nice.

We all should know by know that dealers don't always know what they are talking about...

Shouldn't be a big surprise that this appears to be incorrect.

The sky is falling... the sky is falling. Come on, at least state that this is your OWN opinion, otherwise post your sources.
