Baby Seats and New Camaros...
Im looking for advice. My wife and I are expecting our first child in late Aug. I was hoping to add a New Car about that time (hopefully a Camaro). She has an 08 avalanche which she loves I have a single cab work truck. <--- bad for babies. When shes at work I would need a Car I could put the baby in. My truck isnt an option for her its a company truck.
So I guess what Im asking is how child seat friendly is the Camaros back seat in they event Id need to put the little one back there??? Has anyone done it? Good? Bad? Impossible? Thanks Mike |

I have a one year old and a 3 1/2 year old. They fit good. I will say the infant seat was a little bit tighter than the forward facing todler seat. I'm 5'9, so not too tall but I'd say there are a couple of inches to spare for a taller person.

If I recall right it even has the latch system back there. I think it would fit unless you have one of those huge setups. I'd guess you may need to scoot the passenger seat up but it should fit. Stop in the dealer and try it once. Its a great car, you should go for it.

I have 5 year olds and the booster part of the seat (no back) works fine on the passenger side, as I can move that seat a little more forward than the drivers. When there is someone behind me, I have to move my seat a little more forward which cramps me a bit. I'm 5'11'', but I think I like to sit farther back than a lot of people.

5 year and booster seat with no problems. Well 1 small problem, they like to put marks all over the back seat. But you will have a few years before that happens.

Yes, there is a latch restraint on the top deck right behind the seat. Great for attaching the baby seat in this "family" friendly car

Thanks all Great info. I know its not a family car just trying to still get the maro and still be able to use it with the little one if need be.

Used a car seat with my 2yr nephew in it to ride in "bumblebees brother" as he puts it. Funny when a 2yr old can say it looks like bumblebee. Anyway, car seat fit fine nice and snug. Should be better in the 2011 if they fixed the passenger seat to move forward correctly.

I can tell you IO transport two children in my 2010 2LT/RS one 3 month old (rear facing seat), and a 2 year old (forward facing seat). My two year old sits behind me with no issues and my seat is all the way back. I have my 3 month old daughter sitting behind the passenger seat I have it almost all they way forward with the seat almost upright. I have no issues taking them in and out (pulling ther 3 month old's car seat out and leaving the base in the car). My wife who is 5'8" and 115 lbs can sit in the front seat and ride with no problems.
Let me know if you need photos of the setup I have in the Camaro. Hope this helps Sean
