Need help with drag racing my ZL1 M6
Took my car to the track yeaterday and consistently ran 12.8 @ 113 mph. I was having issues with launching. I kept bogging off the line. Tried launch control but I ran better without it in race mode. Any suggestions? The car ran 13.0 in mode 4 with launch control.

Turn off all that launch control stuff. You have to get the RPM's up on 6spds. I was doing 2.0 60fts untill I went every Thursday and Saturday for 3 weeks to find my right combo. Get rear alignment close to 0 camber I have 18 inch MT dragradials set on 22lbs 4500-4800rpms and slip clutch roll into throttle. I got greedy last week at track raised RPMs roll into throttle little faster 1.430 60ft = tore up rear differential lol

I'll have to get my time slips. My fastest 60 ft was 2.240.

Don't be afraid to abuse the clutch... M6 cars need RPM and clutch smell from you slipping it. Without it you either spin, bog or simply leave like a PU$$. Keep practicing, you need to find the sweet spot. Once you do fine tune your launches.

Bogging will kill your time for sure and might damage your diff/clutch. Have you tried to launch around 1800-2000 for a start? I'd say higher than that, youll get better times if only you can slip the clutch like a champ. How fast you shift? How much mileage on the car?

how are you guys launching the M6 above 3k rpm and still getting the clutch pedal to come back up?? 2800 is about my max or my pedal sticks to the floor.

Actually I guess like you guys said slipping the clutch. Sounds right. My car has 4000 miles in it fairly new. I think I need to practice slipping the clutch. I've tried launching at almost rpm possible. I am getting less fearful though.i was worried I'll break something or the power will sneak up on me. I came from a Camaro v6. Power is overwhelming.

Seat time is second to none. You also need to develop a routine. Do the same thing everytime and it will become second nature. If you do make changes in your technique, do them one at a time to get a good feel for whether it was beneficial or not. With lots of practice 1.8-2.0 will be the norm on a stock setup.

1.8 is almost the norm for any M6 with seat time stock or mildly modded. Get there and you will see low 12s high 11s easy in your car.
