3" Magnaflow Installed with ARH Headers - BEST SOUND EVER!

The 3" MagnaflowExhaust System I got in last week, got installed at my shop today and connected directly up to the AMERICAN RACING headers without a hitch. This system by far the BEST FITTING,BEST SOUNDING ,EASIEST TO INSTALL on the market today.

Magnaflow must have had a Camaro with ARH Headers to mock this one up on...I swear they did.I was sceptical on what I wanted to keep in the middle....ARH OR MAGNAFLOW.The choice was use all the magnaflow up to the cats.It made more since because you get better clearance than ARH has in the middle of the car...everybody knows that area.We had plenty of room everywhere.

The sound that magnaflow came up with is just perfect..a little rumble at idle, and a tiny bit(very tiny) of rasp mixed with very strong deep tones. On a stock car with all 4 cats it could possibly be to quiet. With this being said I will probably recommend this system for HEADER GUYS ONLY.

Audio -

Here are some pics:

I had to TIG weld the cats from the ARH Center (16" for those that want to know the numbers)

Good job Magnaflow....I will never sell another 2.5 system for as long as I live.

Dyno results coming soon on a bone stock 6spd manual.

This setup looks sweet. I like the true X setup vs. joining the two pipes in the middle design. Can't wait to hear this setup and see the numbers.

Can you buy just the headers and cats without the x-pipe from ARH?

Andy, do you think there would be any problem having the inlet pipes of the true-x flared out to slip over the pipes exiting the ARH cats in lieu of TIG welding them together?

Here is a good explanation from a Car Craft article:

Quote:
For any performance exhaust system, some type of crossover connecting the two sides of a dual exhaust system is important because it acts to balance the two banks of the engine. The common H-style crossover is good at balancing sound pulses between the two halves, but does little to promote scavenging because the exhaust gases tend to follow the path of least resistance, which is straight through each pipe rather than taking the 90-degree turn through the H-pipe into the other half of the system. In an X-pipe system, however, where the two sides of the system intersect, the gasses have no choice but to intermingle as they pass through the junction. This promotes improved scavenging effects by smoothing out uneven exhaust pulses from the engine’s firing order.

Yes you can buy Headers Only!

Yes we will have slip fit cats and offroad pipes.

I have a question about the exhaust tips. In the one picture the exhaust doesn't have any exhaust tips. Are the tips not welded to the exhaust? How are the tips installed on the exhaust?

Thanks,

The exhaust looks great.

The one Andy is talking about (first set of pics) does have tips .. the 2nd set of pictures is something custom Andy did on his 427 Camaro before the 3inch Magnaflow system was available
