stabilitrak, t/c lights on after exhaust removal

i recently removed my mbrp catback and im running open cats. I decided to take it for a drive and after i hit 4500 rpm or so, i got all 3 dash lights. They stayed on til i shut the car off. I drove it again and they came on again at the same rpm. Im guessing the ecu detects something since no exhaust is currently on. Btw, exhaust was removed due to bent y-pipe. Damn speed bumps! any thoughts?

I have the same thing happen when I open my electric cutouts and get on it hard. It is the BCM that controls the yaw sensor. Once this ativates the yaw sensor quits functioning.

I think it is either the vibration or noise level that affects this. If my cutouts are closed I do not get these lights.

I took mine and had the codes read in my car and none showed up......So it seems that this is a silly little glitch that occurs with either high noise or vibration.

Hmm, i wonder if other people with cutouts and such are getting this problem? Before I took my exhaust off, it never did it. I wonder if the ECU cuts back power once the yaw sensor quits working and the t/c, stabilitrak lights are on. I've heard of cars going into a limp mode and stuff such as knock sensors retarding timing when those are activated.

Me neither but that is the only thing I can think of on mine...that is the only time the lights come one. I did leave the lights on and drove to the delaer to get scnned and that is how I knew the yaw senor was acting up.

Turned teh car off, waited 5 minutes and the lights were off. Closed the cutouts and took off to 6k rpms and they didn't come back on. Opened the cutouts went back to 6k rpms and the lights came on....That is what mine is doing.

But I didn't seem to lose traction or power when mine were on. The diagnostic check indicated nothing was wrong once the lights went off. So I don't know.....

This is really strange then...I wonder if there are others who have experienced this.

If your cutouts are vibrating the accelerometers then yeah it's not going to like that. Accelerometers are probably somewhere around the center console. I'm guessing the cutouts are too.

I would suggest not venting unmuffled engine exhaust near your accelerometers.

Camaro Corvette GTO GM truck tuning in Tampa

While pulling the exhaust through, you may have hit one of the wheel sensor wires located behind the rotor. Its a crappy little plastic connection. Check it twice.

I just wonder why it does it only at certain rpms and if it could be harmful or anything to drive the car like that. When the lights are activated, would the ecu cut power?
