Who has had their camaro for a long time and prides themselves on having the low miles on that odometer?

Wow, I racked up 30k in 1 year. Now she sits with Long tubes, High flow cats, MAch XL cutback. Soon a cam and blower. No queen just mean.

Low mileage is great for resale value.. and true, you dont get rock chips if your not driving it. I'm just a little confused as to why you would buy a beautiful, beast of a car like this and not drive it. Last night while going to get my taxes done, the parking lot my tax center is located in, they were having a little car club meet. Mostly older gentleman, and most all their cars were of the older sort. Some late 70's Corvettes, some rat rods, a few old coupes, even saw a really nice '69 Camaro. The funny thing was, they all stopped talking, and turned their heads to watch me drive by.. I didnt have time to stop and chat, and they were gone by the time i was done, but thats not the point. This car is a piece of fear inspiring artwork. Drive It!! Lol.
~ Or.. maybe that's just me.

Wow, I thought I had low miles (4400 in 12 months)... I have a very short commute (~8 miles/day) and I have 3 vehicles, so I don't put too many miles on any of them.
And yeah low mileage cars are easier to sell, but the affect on book value is not that much. A 5 year old car with low miles is still a 5 year old car. Low miles will add $500 and REALLY low miles will add maybe $1000 to book value.

very true but the same goes the other way. you may only get an extra 500-1000, but if you drive it alot you get a reduced value on your car and that can go any where from -500 to -1000. I sell a few used cars. |
