So what's the RWHP gain on an LS3 with no tune? Is that information available yet?

These are just now hitting the market. To my knowledge, there isn't any independent info at all.

Interesting article here with expert header designer Jack Burns discussing the benefits of Tri Y headers:
http://www.popularhotrodding.com/tec...d_header_tech/ If you don't want to read the whole article, this is it in a nutshell: "Jack told us: "For just about everyone running an American V-8 on the street, the Tri-Y design is almost always optimal for overall power production."

Just ordered a set of these with cats.... gonna be a little wait for them but once they are installed I should have a great before and after independent dyno comparison for everyone.
I just had my car dyno'd about 2 weeks ago and these headers will be my only modification since those pulls, so it should be a relatively clear indicator of the impact of the new headers. Probably about a month out (1 or 2 weeks for the headers to get here, probably another week or two before I can get them installed).

Well.... I'm not completely stock either, but I guess my point was I'll have another independent baseline to compare against the installed headers.

Absolutely. The more data the better.

Questions:
Why the third O2 sensor hole north of the cat? Is that for use without the cat and plugged otherwise? Also these look long. Will they require cutting the Camaro NPP exhaust? Looking forward to interesting dynos and track improvements (the real test!).

The front O2 port is for a wideband sensor. It would be capped when not in use.
I can't confirm for sure but they say they are drop in. I hope there are no problems with NPP because that's what I have. I'd like the Pfadt guys to confirm the NPP question. |

The headers require no cutting and they do fit right in. The only sets available now come with connection pipes from the headers to your factory mid-pipes. Once there is a X-Pipe available, like all of the other brands, you would have to cut for an X-Pipe since there are no junctions in the rear where the X pipes would land.
So, for these you will not have to cut ANYTHING up to fit on. We're putting them on a ZL1 in a week or so, and putting them on a SS next week so we plan to take plenty of pictures! |
